プロピュライア ニケ神殿の反対側の出っ張り建物は、 「ピナコテク」と呼ばれている。ここは、絵画や美術品を保管する場所だった。 ピネコテクを含め中央開口した正門を 総合して『プロピュライア』と呼ぶ。総合的な完成期は前432年のことだ。プロピュライア（英Propylaea、またはPropylea、またはPropylaia、古代ギリシア語 Προπύλαια ）は、アテナイのアクロポリスへの入り口として機能した当初のプロピュライアに基づいた堂々とした入り口である。 「プロピュライア」という言葉（propylaeumはラテン語）は接頭辞のpro（前といプロピュライアをくぐり アクロポリスの丘に上がると、本殿のパルテノン神殿が目に飛び込んで来る。 その門と本殿の位置関係に ついて言及すれば、西方向から斜めに仰ぎ見る アングルが初見になるように設計されている。
